What is a mini me swap?
What is a mini me swap?
The Mini-Me is a VTEC head swap for the 88-00 Honda D-series motors. It involves taking a SOHC VTEC D-series head and attaching it to a Non-VTEC block. There are only two different D-series VTEC heads that are used for this swap. As for the engine blocks, most any D-series block will work.
Can you put AB Series head on ad series block?
YES THE BORE SPAACING IS DIFFERENT, thus preventing any B series head from working on a D series block, without sleeving and offset boring the head or block which would cost more than either of the oem swaps alone!
Are D series heads interchangeable?
Registered. d17s aren’t interchangeable with d16 or d15s. d16s and d15s are pretty much all interchangeable. however, the d DOHC is not interchangeable with the d SOHCs.
How much HP does a LS VTEC have?
Re: how much hp does a ls vtec (prcrx124) If you just slap the head on the block, it will have compresion in the 9’s and be similar in hp to a GSR. There are countless variations and combinations of parts to be used in this build.
Can you turbo a stock B18B1?
A stock healthy B18B1 can do around 250-280whp safely. The turbo you are going with is a good choice my turbo build is using the same spec turbo. A larger from mount intercooler would be more efficient and drop charge temps better. Get some 750cc injectors and a 255lph fuel pump and have the setup tuned.
How much horsepower can a stock B18B1 handle?
300whp
How much boost can I run on a stock B18B1?
Yes the b18b can handle 1 bar, assuming good tuning.
How much HP does a stock B18B1 have?
how many HP does the B18B1 have? The official number is 142hp, but like all cars there will be bad ones and good ones.

Is the Type R VTEC?
The turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter VTEC® engine kicks out an exhilarating 306 horsepower* and 295 pound-feet of torque. * Wrapped in an iconic red cover, it’s 70 years of Honda engineering for the track distilled into one Civic: the Type R.
Does Honda still use VTEC?
Gone is Honda’s VTEC variable valve timing and lift. The automaker’s camshaft variable timing control (VTC) technology, which is limited to the intake camshaft and is always active, optimizing engine performance and efficiency at any given rpm, replaces the VTEC technology.
Does VTEC increase horsepower?
Like most other variable-valve timing systems, VTEC varies oil pressure to shift between different cam profiles. At higher engine speeds, the cam profile allows greater valve lift, which allows more air into the cylinder. This helps generate more horsepower.
Is VVTI like VTEC?
VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligence) is a similar system developed by Toyota and has several variants among which VVTL-i (Variable Valve Timing and Lift intelligent system) is analogous to VTEC.
Is VTEC better than vanos?
the both time the sequence of the valves… Now that i have learned that they are not the same, in that vtec kick in at higher revs for more high end power. (which i think is hp) and vanos is more of a continual timing from lower rpm for higher torque.
What is dual VVTi engine?
Their latest application is Dual VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with intelligent) technology. The technology is a smarter ways that could make engine more efficient and more eco-friendly. The sistem is located on the cylinder head which is used as automatic time controller of the engine’s inlet and exhaust valves.
What VVTi means?
Tokyo―TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION announced today the development of its new “Variable Valve Timing-intelligent” (VVT-i) technology, which increases performance and fuel economy. Engine development today necessitates both better fuel economy and advanced vehicle performance.
Are VVTI engines good?
The VVTi mechanism is not unique to the land cruisers. It’s pervasive across the whole lineup of toyota’s and has proven it’s worth reliability in power and gas efficiency. Look at the pros – more power and efficiency across the board. That’s not something to be taken likely for a heavyweight car like the Land Cruiser.
